Associate of Arts in Music Ministry
The purpose of this program is to provide the foundational
courses for future studies in music and to supplement existing training
for music ministers and local church music leaders in music fundamentals,
worship planning and leadership, and various music resources.
The core curriculum provides instruction in aural and written music
theory, hymnology, worship leading, and voice training.
Upon successful completion of the Associate of Arts in Music
Ministry, the graduate should be able to:
- Have the theoretical and practical musical skills to facilitate
the leading of worship or perform with a praise and worship
team and/or choir.
- Possess sufficient understanding of praise and worship to
perform effectively in a local church or itinerant music ministry.
- Have the ability to organize and administrate the music
ministry of a local church.
- Be able to serve the leadership and fulfill the vision of the
senior pastor in a local church.
- Know the foundational doctrines of the Bible, have a sound
comprehension of the scope of the five-fold ministry, and
demonstrate communication skills to effectively minister the
truths of the gospel.
- Have a solid core of Biblical, theological, and music course
study with which to continue a formal education in theology
and/or music.
- Impact worship services by possessing, recognizing, and being
sensitive to the anointing and flow of the Spirit of God.
